I am a non US citizen but married to an american citizen,my wife and I have filed for my US PERMANENT residency but the case is still pending,in the meantime I would like to apply for the PR because I always wanted to live in canada.
even if I m not a permanent resident yet , I have a valid working card and am allowed to live the US AND COme back with no problem. My question is to know if I STILL CAn apply for the PR or should I wait for my US PR CARD FIRST!.on the cic web site it ´s said that you have to be legal on the country you are trying to apply from.Even though i Havnt got my US pr yet i´am not illegal since I am allowed to work .
thank you in advance for your help

(in reply to: apply for the PR from the US) You are not illegal, and you can apply for Canadian immigration.... no problem, and I think your US greencard may not help. You need to specify your current country of citizenship though in your application.
