If the secondary applicant has completed his PR obligations, can he retain his PR status even if his Principal applicant ie his father has not completed the PR obligation of staying in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years and thereby has lost his PR status?
Should the secondary applicant be penalised for a lapse on the part of the primary applicant?

(in reply to: PR STATUS) that is the first time in 5 years I have read such a question - and it is a good one! I am no expert but my sense of Canadian style justice would say no. Daddy blows it, Daddy blows it. Everyone else is still OK.

(in reply to: PR STATUS) once landed as a PR each person is responsible for meeting his/her residency obligations to retain PR status or become a citizen, primary applicant has no impact on status of the other applicants at this stage. primary applicant is only for pr application itself
