I read on the internet and this forum that:

http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/intstugrad.shtml

" In cases where the employer is making a permanent job offer to employees who have completed the PGWPP for employment in a skilled occupation (within NOC 0, A and B codes only), the employer will not be required to demonstrate recruitment efforts."

Other more detailed info can be found here:

"The directive indicates that employers may be exempted from the requirement to demonstrate recruitment efforts for Canadians and Canadian permanent residents where an employer is interested in retaining the services of a foreign graduate following the expiration of his or her work permit. In developing this guideline, HRSDC/Service Canada has taken a broad perspective on the labour market, and specifically of labour market information and forecasts that suggest high demand for professional, managerial and technical/trade occupations in the future. As such, the directive only refers to postgraduates in occupations classified in skill levels O, A and B and is limited to employers seeking to retain current employees. That is, the directive does not apply to new hires."

The LMO is still needed, but it is different than other type of LMO namely the exemption of proving of recruitment effort on the company´s side. Also, when processed, jobs that fall under the O, A and B is automatically assumed as high demand. In this case, I would assume it is much easier to get the 2 year extension than regular no PGWP route. I hope I interpreted it correctly.

This is very crucial because my gf is an international student and is hired by a Big 4. Does it mean that at the end of her post grad work permit, the firm will have an easier time getting a LMO confirmation and allow her to apply directly for another 2 years work permit, which will give her enough time to obtain her permanent residency?
