Subject: Valid stay needed to prolong PR Card
Hi. i have got immigration in Jan 2006 and i stayed for couple of months there and then again go back in Summer for couple of months to search for a job but then have to go back to Germany where i am working now and still looking for job in Canada so that i can come to live in Canada permanently.

My question is as i heard you need to stay atleast 3 years from first 5 years in order to prolong your PR card or get a citizenship. AS i am really trying hard to find a job in Canada and as a family man cannot take a risk of going and not finding any job in the beginning. Well it i get a job soon or in next year or two and moved to canada would there be any problems in prolonging my PR Card?

If you have such experience then kindly share..

Thanks in advance

No matter your reasons are, you have to fulfill the min´m requirements. That is 2 years out of 5, not 3. You can make it in various segments each time, like 2 months +3 Mo.+....

The summation must have to be 2 years min´m out of 5 years since the day you landed (Jan 2006).
