Subject: Skilled worker, the son will not accompany
  Hello all,

If someone wants to Immigrate to Canada with her husband but don´t want to include their 1 year old son because the son is USA citizen, can this be done?

The kid is sort of living with the grandparents in USA. It´s a long story. The kid will be mentioned in the application, but not going to accompany his parents.

Is this going to raise any problems? Like... he is only year old but will not accompany them.

Thanks again
Minj

I won´t even try to wrap my brain around your reasons or logic.

The child MUST be included, medically assessed etc. in your application - even if the child is not part of the formal application. It is up to you if he is an accompanying dependent but I would think CIC will want to see some sort of formalized guardianship or adoption agreement with grandma and grandpa.
