I had an interview in September but from my CAIPS notes, I knew that the reason for the interview was that the CIC wanted to confirm that my same sex partner and I were a legitimate couple. I went into the interview VERY nervous, but the officer put me at ease very quickly. All of the communications that I had with the consular office (Buffalo, NY USA) were handled VERY well.
The only advice I recommend is what the guy before me said, to be 100% honest!
