Subject: Dependent Visa for Spouse
  Hi,

I am working as an Engineer in Alberta and am on a work permit. I have just applied for alberta Provincial Immigration (PNP). I am planning to get married in May 2007. What i would like to know is

1. Will bringing my wife on a dependent visa in May 2007 affect my PR application ?
2. How long does it normally take for my wife to get Dependent visa from Canadian consulate in New Delhi, India?

Please share your experiences.

Thanks

Why would you not include her now. Get married now and include her.

Dependent visa (in reply to: Dependent Visa for Spouse)
Thanks Roy..

I had already applied for my PNP. My marriage date is fixed for summer and its quite hard to change it now. My workpermit expires in September 2007. When i apply for my spouse´s dependent visa in May, how long will it take for them to process her application?

thanks once again.

If your PNP certificate is one issue when you obtain that you would then apply to the Federal Government and include your PNP certificate. Probably you will not be approved prior to your marriage so at any time before approved redo your IMM 008 and include her have her complete her own IMM 008 and schedule one.

dependent visa application (in reply to: Dependent Visa for Spouse)
Hi! My husband works in Edmonton, Canada. He went in Canada last September of 2010 as a kitchen helper and got promoted as a cook just this April 2011. Can I apply for dependent visa (spouse visa) together with our three children age 11, 12, and 13? If possible, as we reached Canada, can I also work legally?

Hi,
I am planning to apply for Dependent visa or Open work permit for my spouse. Kindly suggest which one will be faster and approximate processing time. She is eligible for both type of visa.

THanks
