What did you mean by Language 16 points ? You said you got 5.5 which corresponds to 8 according to the points set out on CIC .

without supplying us the 4 scores on your IELTS we have no way of knowing what your total score will be for CIC. without your total score for IELTS we have no way of knowing if you are over or under 67 points.

I can tell you right now a 5.5 in IELTS for one component will guarantee your points are not 16

all the job experience and education in the world will not help you be successful in Canada unless you can function in our 2 official languages. These scores should give you a hint that economic success in Canada could be a challenge without further english skill improvements.

To be honest, you have yourself a problem. Canada is complaining bitterly that new Canadians do not have sufficient command of language so thinking CIC will ignore your point shortage is not likely going to happen.

The only suggestion I can make is ask your lawyer to request an extension on your time limit to send IELTS results and see if you can´t retake the exam to get your scores up.

Which university in the US did you got your master’s from? I am surprised that you got around 5 in IELTS General (I am assuming you took General and not Academic). General is incredulity easy for someone with moderate level of English (i.e. 7 points across the board).

If you have a master’s from the US, you either went to a diploma mill school or are not a god test taker (which is understandable).

I would take Sharon’s advice and ask for an extension. Study and take IELTS again.

Well, I dont understand why they need the IE test if I have lived in canada since forever, and I took the test and I did ok, 6.5 and above. I have worked and lived in canada since 2001, do you think I will have some difficulties with the scores?
Thanks
