Subject: PR Card Processing Times - Forum users experience
  Folks,

I became a PR on 22nd November, 2007 and have given a Canadian address for mailing the PR Cards to the officer while finishing the landing formalities at Toronto Airport.

Would you please let me know the approximate timeframe for the PR Cards to be mailed across and anyway of tracking the status?

What should be done in case of urgent situations of travelling back to Canada without a PR Card? Applied for a Travel document (permanent resident abroad) but Consulate rejected the same as its only a week i have become PR and has to wait for the PR card.

Any one with such experiences can share some light on this?

Thanks in Advance
Praveen

It should arrive within 30 days if it doesn´t have any issue (in case you are unlucky).

My wife once had to take the one time entry visa to enter Canada without the PR card as she had to visit Bd. before getting PR card. Her PR card case was kind a unusual. She landed on May and on August she recieved a letter stating that the her pictures weren´t meeting the criteria. So had to resend the pics. Got the PR card in October.

She went to Canadian consulate at Dhaka, Bd. and got the visa within 10 mins of interview without any issue.

Are you sure it was a visa? As per my knowledge you can apply for a "travel document" to enter Canada if you are not in possession of PR card.
