Subject: Counted as a stay in Canada ?
If I stay in a hotel or a rented apartment will it be considered as a stay in Canada ? Do i require to show hotel bill or apartment rent receipt ?

Thanks.

Of course will be counted, no matter you even stay in the streets.

You may keep the records for in case, but for residency purpose your passport entry/exit seals are sufficient.

No stamping at U.S. border by land for visa-waivers. Assume honor system with evidence of residency, as asked and required.

you could potentially be asked from proof of residency - such as telephone bill, electric bills, lease. Not sure how they would view a hotel room receipt.

Anyone stayed at a hotel the first time and provided with the hotel address for receiving PR ?

never heard of hotel being used as a permanent address. I would be nervous about CIC accepting this option

Residency establishment & address for PR card are 2 different issues.

I´m also very confused about using hotel/motel address for PR card.

I would suggest to consider some temporary boarding services for the new comers; some add comes here on a regular basis.

Hotel/motel is fine for residency. No one can tell you where or how to live, as long as it is in Canada. This I confirmed with the PR Call Centre. They can be called to verify this is correct.
