| Subject: CSIS clearance for WP - change of Employer ??? |

I am in Canada on WP since Oct 2005 with present Employer-A. I have extended my WP with Employer A two time already. (recently in May 2007)
I have applied for WP - change condition Change of Employer-B in first week of Sep 07 to CIC vergeville.
I understand from the Employer-B´s attorney that my WP application is flagged for CSIS clearance.
My questions:
1. Do CIC get CSIS clearance for WP even though I am in Canada on WP for two years now?
or
2. Are the CIC linking my WP application with Employer-B with my PR application @ Buffalo in Process (IA recd. in Sep07 & Medical reports sent to Ottawa in Oct. 07)
3. How long does it take for CSIS to submit my clearance to CIC assuming Request by CIC to CSIS @ end of Oct 2007?
I have not travelled to any other country other than Canada (I am in Canada since Oct.2005) I have already submitted my Police clearance received from The Indian Consulate in Canada with my PR application.

Why would CSIS care?????? Who is your Lawyer????
You can have a name check done in the same day depending on the Police force or city your in. In Toronto GTA go to York Regional Police.
CSIS takes hours to do a check or months depending on your location but you have been in Canada since October 2005.
Do you want the CSIS number that deals with CIC?

Hey Roy,
I think the main reason for my WP - change condition Change of Employer-B still under process I think may be the CIC CPC Vergeville must be linking my CSIC clearance flagged by Buffalo VISA office.

Something is not right or better yet illogical.
I know of one counsel who CIC had returned the file three times and the client was being told something totally different then what was the real cause. Accidents happen maybe your "LAWYER" submitted someone elses LMO with your request to change employers or forgot to submit your LMO altogether. Did you obtain a new LMO???
Background checks are three fold, InLand Foss computer check, Fingerprints InLand and Overseas, and CSIS to see if your a sibling of Osama Bin Ladin.
Today 98% of all checks are computer checks only based on a percentage of hits from the information you have provided.
From your posting it appears that you have not been flying back and forth home or to other counties. So why would CSIS be concerned?

What´s a LMO??
This Lawyer is appointed by the New Employer.
My New Employer is facilitating all my WP - immigration needs.
I am handling my PR formalities personally.

I got the LMO thing you mentioned.
No LMO in my case as in IT category.
