Subject: Steps after Medical Examination - SW categorey.
My medicals have been sent to Ottawa on 25th october 07

My Questions:
1. How long will it take for my Medical Reports to be reviewed in Ottawa centre & updated in CIC system ?
2. If someone can share the next steps/process & some time frame will be helpful.

Thanks,
Yagnesh

they are reviewing your medical and conducting your background checks at the same time. Once both come back clear they will request your passport.

Processing time varies - couple of months to several months.

You are almost there... if you are confident about your health and criminal history, it is only a matter of waiting.

hang in there.

Welcome to the club! As Sharon said it is a matter of waiting, you are almost done.

In our case, our medicals were received in Ottawa on August 31, 2007 means 2 months before you and WE ARE STILL WAITING.

We called Ottawa end of October who said that our files were uploaded to the system in Buffalo (that is necessary for CIC to get officially your results) and it does take about 6 weeks from the day they receive it. At least that is what they say.

So from October 25 I would expect your files to be uploaded in Buffalo around mid December then if RPRF has been paid ... just have to wait.

This is just a rough estimation. Time varies from case to case. You can check trackitt.com if you like to see other examples. Some get things done faster some slower.

The reason for this remains a mistery to me.

Thanks for your responses.

Further as Sharon mentioned about criminal check. Visa Office has not mentioned anything about my police clearance in Canada in my IA letter.(I am in Canada for over one year). In the Buffalo guide it was mentioned I have go for Canada police clearance only when the VISA office instructs me. Can you throw some light on this....

Also I will have some questions on landing later.. as I am already in Canada. RPRF fees is already paid.

For landing you have to get out of Canada and come back. People do that at the Canada/US border from what I heard.

For Canada, CIC does RCMP name check if that comes out to be negative then no report is required.
