Subject: Immigration experience requirement question
  Hey,

I live in Canada on a valid study permit and I also have a valid 1 year post graduate work permit. I would like to apply for immigration. I just have some confusion about their experience requirement for the "skilled worker".

When they say "at least 1 year of continuous full time employement or equivelent parttime continuous work" can it not be like a total of more than 1 year fulltime employment but done with breaks in between? for example will 6 months of fulltime starting June 2004 and 8 months of fulltime starting aug 2006 not fulfill the requirement of at least 1 year fulltime work experience?

Also, does the work experience have to be related to the university degree or can it be any work on the NOC skill level 0,A or B ?

thanks

No, your work experience has to be continuous for the minimum one year requirement.

Your experience has to fall under proper NOC code and need not be related to your education.

Some of my friends have got their Bachelors from CAN and they did CoOp during their bachelors and that earned them the required experience that was needed to gain the points for Immigration after their B.Sc.

But I got a question, What if someone from Outside CAN wants to immigrate under skilled category and had started working full time even 1 year before they got their Bachelors?

is the system same as for CAN and Foreign bachelor degree holders?
