if you read carefully my responses to Roy regarding the pastor you will find that I actually said exactly what the rest of you said - get over it. At the same time, I can appreciate the disappointment for Roy when he discovered he was being ´used´. Should he have brought his frustration here - probably not. So shoot him.

Why we insist on conspiracy theories and the regurgitation of half truths is beyond me. It is as if the forum feels slow so someone throws in some junk to liven things up. It is almost a Friday ritual!

There is at least 10 threads in the last 2 days that have 0 or 1 answer to them. How about us ´senior´ members focus on those rather than this sidebar of credibility, jealousy and conspiracy.

Yes, it is.

Sharon has points.

I also noticed that many of the guys aren´t getting help, even seemingly with easy questions. I try to answer as much as I can, but I´m not professional and don´t want to throw stone in the dark.

DC, I may give you a bad time about your CIC hostility, but as a human being I am very sorry that Canada was a bad decision for you. We may often disagree but you are always civil and rational-I can respect that.

I wish there was a way that I could cushion your anti Canada sentiments, but I suspect time is the only solution to that one.

In the mean time, I will do my best to take your comments in contexts. Hopefully both of us can represents different perspectives on the same question without getting into a personal debate.

Sharon,

As human being we all may have different views, but one thing always should be common, that is personal respect. That is one of the greatest thing I learned from the western culture.

I try to keep that in mind and also try to be rational and unbiassed, try to avoid personal issues as much as I can. I don´t care who says what, if feel good then support, if not then condemn. Most of the time I can´t take neutral stand to be good with all.

Incidentally, just yesterday I met an Indian guy whom I met in another forum (not immigration). Coincidentally he visits here 2/3 times an year and hence decided to contact me. We had dinner together and spent an excellent night. I´m not a very social guy, but he appeared to me very close as if we know together for a long time. By the way, My wife and I also met in the net and decided to get married before seeing each other.

I´m not Anti Canada (pro America though). Yes for sure Anti SW immigration policy for many good reasons. I can tell for sure that this won´t bring any good for Canada in the long term also. Except me, all of my family members are in Canada, so at least for their sake I can´t be Anti Canada. Other than job issue, I always consider Canada as one of the best place to live, if not the best.

Pro America doesn´t mean Anti Canada. I became pro American becasue I got the chance of comparison between this two great countries, and from my view of point prefered USA. had I not got the US touch before, most likely I would´ve been in Canada today. What Richard says also true, I was motivated by better oppurtunities than values, which I agree too.

Dear DC

No need to feel pro-this or anti-that. But then again, there are nearly two million Canadians living good life in the US. So just enjoy life and make the most of what the lady luck throws at ya. I have a simpler philosophy: when things get tough, lower your expectations and you might be able to stick to Canada. Canada is fine for a work-a-day folks like me.

Yes Low Expectations, it is upto you how you see your life.

I see myself far better in the US like you said many other Canucks.
