Hello everybody. I am a temporary worker visa holder who applied for permanent residency. I gave birth here in Canada before I got my letter of acceptance. Unfortunately, I forgot to inform CIC immediately about my new born child in Canada. How will this affect my application? What should I expect after I inform them that I have a child born in Canada? Thanks for any help.

(in reply to: Forgot to inform CIC about new born in Canada) Why would you inform anyone at CIC you have a Canadian child?
He or she would not need to be added to your application.
If you decide to inform them regarding the child I hope the child is under 18 years of age. You will only confuse them.

(in reply to: Forgot to inform CIC about new born in Canada) Hi,
Congratulation for your new baby.
I do not think this would cause any problem. The child was born in Canada so he/she is Canadian by birth. The situation may differ if baby was born outside Canada. You just let CIC know.
