Sharon,

I have never visited Vancouver but it seems that there are a lot of Chinese there, followed by Indians.

I normally see news articles that Chinese and Indians are fighting each other in Vancouver, is that so?

Do these two communities have rivalry between them? If so, what causes these rivalries?

It is good to know how immigrants behave towards each other in their new adopted country.

I am asking you this because I think you are from Vancouver and you will be in a better position to give first hand information on the happenings there.

Thank you.

you are correct, some Indians and Chinese bring their racism with them when they immigrate. Are they fighting each other - just the punk gangs who think it is entertainment. More often, especially second generation, they just hang out together and become colour blind.

Intermarriage is not common. It is more between Caucasian and Indian or Caucasian and Chinese. There are Indian families having dinner in the Chinese restaurants. They work beside each other at the bank. Will a Chinese business owner hire an Indian applicant? Don´t know. Depends on the sophistication of the Chinese owner. True visa versa as well.

As a unscientific observation - the more educated someone is, the less this is an issue.

I stayed mostly in the Toronto, it looks like the city is being divided into different parts according to the ethnicity. Scarborough area is now almost caucassian less. Again negative posting...Such negatives one day would be proved very crucial, if want to avoid then try to be blind.

Thanks Sharon,

The same things are going on in Toronto. It seems that there is a silent animosity between Chinese and Indians.

I hope the next generation will overcome this.

Raj,

I have been wondering as you do. From your name you are Indian aren´t you? so better all Indians, please leave Vancouver for sharon. Sharon and Roy are the only born Canadians in this forum and have the right to defend Canada LOL.

I am glad that there is no Tunisian name in the first post (origin of her fiction boyfriend) who is PhD but delivering pizza in Vancouver later.

Oliver, webmaster, please delete delete delete. Second class Canadians threads must be deleted by the two defender of Canada LOL

SutarB, DC and others,
I don´t think we have any doubt about the jingoism on this forum, I have got over the personal attacks, and as you do I always try to reason out, and its absolutely normal for Sharon or her kind to assume that we are here to say only bad things about Canada. I have tried many times but have failed, but if blind defence of Canada is what they want.... they will get the job done. All of my view points were related with skilled immigration, and seems like they just don´t get it, all they want to talk about is some guy from turkey who they helped out, or there is some neighborhood where they live where there are more immigrants than native canadians.... and how behind every failed story the immigrants are to blame for not giving their best effort.

Anyway, we have spent too much time and energy on that issue, but the only good thing I see is that all future immigrants can look and analyze the posts, see what educated immigrants think and see what educated Canadians think, I am more than happy for it and hopefully the class of immigrants that you and me are here to advice will take notice. Will the millions of people waiting in line to get to Canada ever dissapear ? Its really naive to think if thats going to happen in the near future.

Do not worry. Cheer up.

I now strongly believe sharon is a member and contributor in this website, which is based in Vancouver anyway. If you go through , you would find it as site of anti-immigrants, anti-Chinese, anti-Indians even if they pretend the opposite.
So please log in and read carefully, in particular the old articles.

SutarB,

I read many articles of immigrationwatch. I don ´t care who is anti or pro what. I only care what the truth behinds & any reliable facts they can present. Certainly I learned many things from there as a part of my resaerch.

Good that this site has 2 real Canadians with solemns responsibility of defending their country. However, in this forum I din´t see so far anyone of us (the alleged conspirators like Raj, Sutar, Balwant, I) writing anything aganist Canada. We definitely think Canada´s immigration policy is badly needed a overhaul, sepcailly the FSW class needs to be revised upright. In fact, Canada defender Sharon concluded with us also just 3 days ago and I thought that at least she wouldn´t again change her tone. 2 of her quotes, "There is no doubt that Canada needs to find a better solution to our skilled labour shortage. It also needs to do a better job of making the opportunities clear to prospective immigrants." Engineers, doctors, pharmacists, and IT are not the only jobs out there that pay serious salaries and require skill. Perhaps we should eliminate those skills from the NOC list so we don?t disappoint anyone upon arrival?". This is exactly what we try to establish. Whent the same thing we say we become 2nd class citizen and Roy & She remains 1st class defender with the right of whatever they wish to say. Very good. That´s why the immigrant community never feels themselves to be merged with the mainstream. That´s why I never feel bad that I won´t return there.

Funny thing is, I never speak without any reference, all of my references are from inside Canada, and mostly by born 1st class Canadians. I´m very curious what is their status in Sharon eyes.

These patriots never spend a moment to read any publish facts, reports. All their arguments are some Philosopher type words, and obviously I helped one..I saw some type logic. I´m sure AP now after landed in Toronto is astonished by the true face of immigrants condition there and started speaking out. Before that I ddin´t see him writing anything like that. So, now he also is included in our loser group.

Richard here doesn´t agree with American Govt. policy, not only that he even lost faith in American values. So in Sharon logic he is a second class American. I don´t know how Richard will take that.
