Subject: Workpermit while PR under process
  My PR application is under process in CHC New Delhi from April 2005 and will take another 4 more years to finalise. Now a BC employer like to hire me and applied for LMO with BC HRSDC. MY question is;
1. Am I eligble for a temporary work permit while PR under process?
2. If so , Instead of applying TWP, arranged employment option supporting to my PR would be more beneficial ?
3. Can I utilize arranged employment option and get PR status once reached Canada?

Expert´s valuable advises welcome.

Yes your eligble for a WP.

You will need to convince the Visa Officer that your employment is temporary and you will leave at the end of your work permit. A good way is to convince the officer that you wish the WP to increase your points and to make it easier for you to establish yourself once you finally get PR status.

All persons must apply outside of Canada for PR status. See Regulation 11

Hi Sheila,

I am not an expert, just another applicant, but from what I understand if you get HRDC approval and a permanent job offer, you may be able to speed up the immigration process in one of the two ways:

1: Let the visa office know that you have a job offer and from what I understand they will expedited your application and get your processed within 6 months for immigration (at least that’s the case in London, not sure of other visa offices).

2: Apply for provincial nomination program in BC, and again the immigration visa will be fast tracked.
