how safe is this forum exactly?

depends on what you mean by safe.
if you mean from CIC - you are perfectly safe. There is absolutely no way to trace your handle or IP to a application file that I know of.
if you mean from people that may feel the desire to run to CIC and report something - you are safe. You are trackable by the webmaster through your IP - that´s it. The only time it becomes an issue is if you are posting spam, crude remarks or playing havoc with the forum. Again, there is no way (unless you print your fule name and file number) that anyone could provide CIC enough information that would amount to anything.
if you mean safe from being given poor advice - that is a matter of buyer beware. you will learn who is consistent and trustworthy. Always double check what you are told here against the online CIC operational manuals or the main CIC website itself. Everything is there if you know where to look.
if you mean safe from normal forum rubbish - absolutely not.
that you will not be open to stupid comments from people that are not accountable for what they

Not too safe. There is a woman who likes to trace people where they are from, their IP Protocols, enquire about their personal lives etc. She loves to Ping peoples IP addresses to know where their computers are located, which is a dirty piece of work.
She is also under suspicion of reporting people to the relevant authorities who are not in agreement with her views.
She has the backing of another contributor on this forum.Sometimes the other contributor gives her ideas on what to wtite or who to report to.
She also has a good relationship with the webmaster, so if you are not in her good books, sorry, your postings will be deleted or your IP address can be blocked so you cannot make postings. Other contributors on this forum cannot enjoy that special privilege with the webmaster, therefore your question about safety and security is a concern.
What is good for one is good for all.
They tried to take me off the forum but so far they were unsuccessful.
Just be careful.
