Subject: HOW TO SWITCH APPLICATION FROM MEXICO TO BUFFALO
The waiting time in Mexico for PR application is over four years.

I am currently working in Canada and I would like to start with a fresh application in Buffalo. I can afford it. However I am concerned about what to do with my application in Mexico.

A transfer would delay the process. A withdrawal may look bad in my file and having two applications at the same time may generate me problems don?t you think? (same name and birthday in the computer would be very easy to note)..

I am not sure about how to do the switch.

I would appreciate any advise.

Why on earth would you submit a FSW application in your circumstances?

You are working in Canada and have not applied for a PNP certificate?

R U working under the NAFTA or with a LMO, HRSDC approval work permit?

You did your FSW application yourself, didn?t you?

Go to www.cic.gc.ca and on the left side to Immigrate. Then Provincial nominee----READ.

CIC will not transfer your file.

I had an application filed from New Delhi India before 2 yrs. I came to Canada and was working on Work Permit and have decided to file a new application in Buffalo.

In the application, I have mentioned that the Delhi file is being withdrawn and I am filing a new application in Buffalo as I am in Canada on a long term.

Once the file # for Buffalo is received, I have sent a withdrawal letter to New Delhi and was withdrawn in 1 month time.

Both the file #s will be shown on CIC E-CAS but with different statuses as it does for me.

Now within 6 months, I have got medicals completed, PPR arrived and waiting for stamped passports.

I suggest you do this and may be lucky like me to get in 6 months.

Dear Roy:

I applied to the FSW program in Mexico over a year ago, when I was living there. I recently moved to Toronto since I got a job in one of the four largest banks as a financial analyst. I have a NAFTA work permit and the bank has manifested me in several occasions that it does not have any intention to get involved with immigration policies or immigration authorities (nor even for a labor market opinion). I have had to do everything on my own.

I checked the provincial program that you recomend me and it seems to me that the provincial program is an "employer" program rather than an "employee program", so I am not sure if I can apply without the support or my employer (they may be willing to give me a letter but nothing more than that, they would not put any real effort into it). Can I apply to the program on my own?

Dear Roy and Praveen: I think I am going to withdraw my FSW application in Mexico and file a new one in Buffalo (it seems that is the only option I have to speed up the process a little).

However there is one thing that still bothers me a little. I was checking the site http://www.trackitt.com/discussion-forums/federal-skilled-workers/11628427/ and it seems that a large portion of the cases attended in Buffalo are transfered to a "local office".

Does this mean there is a chance that Buffalo may transfer my file to Mexico and that I have to start again the four years line there? I really dont want to make the line in Mexico twice.

Thanks guys!
