I´m currently in US on H1b status, while my Canada PR is also in progress (medicals done). I need to go for stamping h1b visa at a US Consulate in Canada, for which I will first need to apply for Canadian visitor visa to enter Canada. My quesiton is, can I apply Canada visitor visa while my PR application is in progress and will I get a visitor visa if I apply? Thanks all in advance for suggestion/advise.

(in reply to: Canada visit while PR in progress) Depends on the Visa officer.
You have to declare that you already applied for PR. In that case sometimes they reject any other visa.

(in reply to: Canada visit while PR in progress) Agreed with DC.
Go to Mexico for renewing your H1-B even though it could be further if you live in the North of US. I heard people do that.
Or can´t you wait to get PR and do a "one week landing" and sort out your H1-B ? is your timing critical ?
