Relax... This is my first advice for you!!

1. You may have to get a Police clearance from FBI not just NJ. This is what I was asked to submit. For FBI clearance follow these steps which I did:

There are a few things which you should do to get the FBI clearance soon.

1. Get the finger prints taken at an authorized office
2. Make sure you write a deadline on the envelope when you send your finger prints for clearance. If there is no deadline, you may write the date which comes a month after you mail your finger print request.
3. It is very important to mail the request by a service which you can track.
4. Track the shipment and after it has been received at the docking station, send an e-mail to the FBI office requesting an expedited service with the deadline. Include your name, tracking number, receiver?s name, date on which it was received.
5. Their e-mail address is do@leo.gov
6. The last and the most important thing: DO NOT FORGET TO THANK ME AFTER YOU RECEIVE THE RESULTS IN 10 DAYS.

2. To obtain police clearance from India you may go to the Indian Consulate and request for one.

3.You may submit application without PCC and you will not be rejected. You will be asked to submit PCCs when required.

Almost Perfect!!
(in reply to: HELP REGARDING POLICE CLEARANCE)
For PCC from US , do as stated above by Almost Perfect
For PCC from Inida, get a form from Indian consulte site at

http://www.indiacgny.org/php/showContent.php?linkid=412

Under APPLICATION FORM FOR MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES category,

and submit as required at US consulate in NY city and thats all for PCC frpom India

For Singapore, I think they need a letter from Canadian consulate stating the purpose for PCC. Such a letter exist at page 8 of E37048.pdf which can be downloaded from
CIC web site for Buffalo applicants.

Nidhi,

I did a mistake in my last mail , for PCC from India u need to submit the miscellaneous services form along with your original passport at Indian consulate in NY City( I mistakenly wrote that u should submit it to US consulate). Sorry about that, Indian consulate in my case was able to provide me the PCC in about 2 weeks.

Regards

Rkumar
