Smoothest possible experience!
Drove from Seattle, WA at 1:30PM with wife and 3 year old kid, reached the border at 3:15. Inside the building at 3:20.
Immigration done by 3:45, Customs done by 3:55. Outside the building as PRs by 4:00PM.
We came back to US after spending about 4 hours in Vancouver area. 1 minute at US check point and we were back. We had valid US visas and I-94s.
We´ve started looking for work in Canada and plan on moving when we get something or next spring/summer, whichever is earlier.
Please let me know if someone needs more details.

You mentioned you had valid US visas and I-94s. Did you submit your I94 when leaving USA/ did they ask you to submit the I94 and give you a new one when returning to USA?

What about I-94s? I intend to visit US next month and want to go to Canada thru Road. How many would suffice for Canada?
Did you surrender I-94 while entering Canada and get another I-94 while re-entering US from Canada
