Subject: will complete disclosure lead to delay |

My fiance had gained temporary admission to the UK but because he did not report regularly to the police, he became an immigration offender. Later, after we met and decided to get married, he chose to voluntarily go back to his home country (under the voluntary assisted repatriation program)so that we could get married there.
Will disclosure of the fact that he was an immigration offender in the UK and that he had attempted to gain refugee status there render the sponsorship application hopelessly long and possibly lead to his being denied permanent residence?
i would really appreicate some guidance.
thank you

additional info (in reply to: will complete disclosure lead to delay) I just wanted to add that he was never denied refugee status nor ordered to leave the country. One of the reasons that he didn t report to the police was due to misinformation from a lawyer, which he later filed a negligence suit against (we have proof of that).
