Subject: Port of Entry
I just want an advise or reassurance about entering Canada from the US as a visitor and then apply for spousal sponsorship and worry about what to tell the Immigration Officer at the port of entry to Canada without being denied the right of entry or having undue hardship. my understanding is canada will grant you right of entry for 6 months with no obstructions. Anyone please advise.

Thanks.

Define no obstructions...

You have to probe that your intentions to enter Canada as a visitor are on temporary basis. If the CBSA officer smells that you are intenting to enter Canada to stay, more likely you will be refuse of entry.

Once you enter Canada, unless is specified by the CBSA agent in your passport, you may stay in Canada for 6 months.
