Subject: marriage or conjugal partner? |

hey everybody,
I come here on the forum to ask for some help since i know many people have a lot of experience about the Canadian immigration process.
My question is the following: Me and my Canadian citizen girlfriend decided to move together in Canada to start building a family. Can my girlfriend of about 2 years can sponsored me if she is student in Canada and I am an international student in the US? We talk on the phone for 4 hours everyday and I go to Canada about twice a year and she comes to the States twice a year. So our only barrier is school since i frequently update my Canadian TRV and she comes here without a visa. But, we don´t want a quick marriage since we want to respect our tradition before marriage.
I need some advice on how to start the process.
Thank you all.

(in reply to: marriage or conjugal partner?) you have 2 choices - A -common law (1 year full time co-habitation) or B -marriage. Conjugal is designed for those who cannot accomplish A or B because they are in separate countries with laws that prohibit A or B. You do not qualify und either. I have read too many US/Canada stories of refusal based on the fact that there is absolutely nothing stopping you from getting married.
sometimes tradition has to take a back seat.
