Hi
My friend is a PR here moved from US 6 mths ago.Has been here since then.She got an invitation letter from a university in US inviting her to come and discuss .Does one needs to have a job here in canada to get a Visitor visa to US.My friend has been was on a valid status in US and then moved here since she got her PR.kindly advise if it possible for her to visit US

I assume your friend is not from any US visa waived country.
To have US visitor visa, she has to establish strong ties with Canada, so that they can be sure that she´ll come back.
Full time employment is naturally a very important factor. She still may apply, has to show strong bank balance..property records..family ties in Canada...
keep in mind that US visa appoinmant in Canada is also not very straight forward, plan way ahead of time. It may even take some times to get the appropriate interview date in a desired location.
