| Subject: US citizen working in US but w/ residence in Can? |

My Canadian boyfriend in Montreal (I am in a same-sex relationship) is now having problems at the border and was refused entry to visit me - he is a freelance writer so they gave him a hard time.
I am on the road more than half of the time for my work so I am thinking of calling Toronto home and maintaining my job (and therefore a US paycheck) and an address in the US.
Are there any immigration issues I need to look out for? I was thinking I would in essence be a seasonal resident since I´d be in Canada less than six months.
Any guidance or suggestions of resources would be welcome.

Please clarify your status in Canada. Permanent residence? Work Permit? Citizen?
