Subject: Returning Resident Visa or Travel document |

I recently completed my landing & became a Permanent Resident of Canada. I am now outside Canada & would like to travel back.
If I do not receive my PR card, how do I go about getting the Returning Resident Permit or Travel document to Canada? What proofs do I need to show, since I just became a permanent resident a couple of months ago?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

(in reply to: Returning Resident Visa or Travel document) Show documents to who?? If you are talking about the airline, in case you are flying back, then you need a travel document from the nearest embassy to show the airline that you have a right to return to Canada (otherwise they will not give you a boarding pass). If you are in the US and driving back, just the passport is good enough. If you are from a visa exempt country then you don´t need anything other than your passport. At the POE the CBSA can check with just your passport that you are PR of Canada. The documents are more for the airlines to make sure that the person has a right to enter Canada. If they bring someone to the POE and that person should not have been brought, then the airline is subject to a penalty.
