(in reply to: what is CAIPS) You can use these forms to obtain a copy of records if you are in Canada or know someone in Canada or a Canadian citizen. In the last two cases you will have to authorize the person obtaining on your behalf.

CAIPS form (in reply to: what is CAIPS) I am trying to fill out Form IMM 5563 "Access to Information and Personal Information Request´, there is a field that says ´Requester´s reference No.´ and another that says ´ Public Rights Administration File No.´. What do i put down for these 2 fields? FYI, I am getting a Canadian friend in Canada to get the CAIPS file for me.

(in reply to: what is CAIPS) John: You can try calling, its not going to do any harm.
Kang: Leave those fields blank. Your friend is going to attach his status in Canada so it should be fine.
