Subject: HCV positive- medical ?
I am canadian citizen and my mom is in india. unfortunately she got HCV positive recently? I was thinking to submit my parents file as family visa category. but not sure are they going to pass her in medical? I heard that in HIV it is quite difficult but there are some chances only if you are applying in family visa category. But no idea about HCV?

spouses get a lot of latitude when it comes to family class sponsorship and medical inadmissability. Parents... not so much.

nothing prevents you from trying, but I would not hold out a lot of hope.

Hepatitis C treatment can cost up to 30,000 CAD per year which means. Canadian excessive demand limit is 15,000 CAD over next 5 years which can be extended to 30,000 CAD.

You should consult a specialist regarding the course of treatment and the length, then make a decision. The usual treatment length is about 6-12 months,so, she can undergo the treatment before the medical examination and hope for the best.

Bad Advice:
Canadian immigration does not test for Hep-C. So, if there are no records of her being Hep-C positive and she is not on medication as of now, she may avoid revealing the condition in the medical exam. As, Hep-C can lie dormant for up to 20 years it will be difficult to prove that she lied during the medical exam in the absence of any prior medical records.

Again follow the same steps except the bad advice part. Hep-C treatment is not so expensive so better chance
