My wife and i are planning a trip to Toronto at the end of august , She is a canadian citizen but her pass port expires on the 21stof aug. and we are planning to leave on the 29th .. just wondering if she is going to have any problems entering CANADA on the 29th , being a born citizen of CANADA .. or will they let her go considering its only a few days expired..
cant go before the 29th due to work and dont wanna waste time trying to mail the passport in now ( what if it doesnt get back in time ) .. .rather do it in toronto in person..
Please advice !

A Canadian citizen has an unlimited RIGHT to enter Canada, with or without a passport. BUT what about the future? Get the passport renewed while in Canada, even if it takes a day to get it processed and then have it mailed to you later.

Go to the counsellor section of the CDN Embassy were you are and get it renewed. You have a whole month.

Let me add something here.
As a Canadian citizen she has the right to enter Canada the problem is that with an expired Passport more likely the airline won´t let her board the aircraft.
If she is driving up to the border, she´ll be fine otherwise she might have to apply for a temporary travel document to board the aircraft.

you think calling up the airline would help.. because she is flying air canada.... but i will look in to the canadaian embassy here.. see how long they take
