Subject: giving birth to baby in canada if only visiting?
Would it be permissible to have my baby in Canada because I would want to stay at my mom´s place to recover there and have her help once the baby is born for the first few weeks, even though I am a US citizen (but my mom is a naturalized canadian)? How would the Canadian government look at this? I would look into my US health insurance covering the cost of the hospital.

Any light that can be shed on this situation would be very much appreciated.

If you are allowed to enter, you will be allowed to deliver also. Prepare for hefty medical bills. Your baby if born in Canada will be Canadian citizen and I guess also US cause you are US citizen.

A funny thing I read..one guy wrote " I am Canadian PR and I am only 23". Your baby may think I am only 1 day old and I am a US and Canadian citizen.
