Hello Members,
I received my CAIPS notes today after filing complaint on Friday that CIC was delayed in responding my request more then 30 business days. Now, here is the glitch on my CAIPS it says 65 pts only but I have 69 pts here is the breakdown:
Eng. Prof: 10 pts
Age: 10 pts.
Education: 20 pts
I should be given 22 pts here because I have completed 2 yrs diploma with a co-op option which makes it to 3yrs and even that they have not counted my co-op work and on campus work exp. which comes to a 1 yr. This deducts another 2 pts. from my work exp.
Work Exp: 15 pts
Adaptability: 10 pts
Arranged Empl: 0 pts
I have already re-registered for eng. test which is next week and I will try to bump up my points for Eng. Prof. But still I am totally unclear why the officer has not counted my co-op point or on campus job (4 month fulltime) not in education nor work exp. Was that complete useless? Please let me know on this

take the ielts as soon as possible and try to increase ur points, regarding the deducted points tell ur lawyer if u have one to write a letter to them explaining ur point but to be on the safe side its best to increase ur score with ielts if u can.

because its only 2 points u need than why to argue with the other matter regarding the points deducted, u can increase it with ur ielts if u are well prepared

Thanks for your reply i will be giving the IELTS next week and get my points higher for sure and once that is done i will write up a letter explaning my co-op work term and on campus job so that i can get my additional 2 points on it. Now, i will be focusin more on engl. test and then sent everything together.

send the letter as soon as possible just to be on the safe side before they make the final decision, well points are concerned u can increase with ielts but if they make a decision before ur ielts than its gonna be a problem, so u can atleast be safe with ur explanation about the 2 points in the meanwhile.

Send them an e-mail NOW explaining them that you will take IELTS sooner and send them improved scores.

Thanks guys. i am going to draft up a letter tonight reg. tht 2 points for my co-op n email the officer right tomm. Also, i will mention to hold on before making any decision as i will be giving CELPIP next week already registered n attach a receipt to confirm. I hope tht will conlude this issue for now ... i will keep u guys posted thanks a lot

Co-op work experience as part of degree requirements is not counted for work experience points. Your on-campus job should fall within proper NOC code and this experience plus others should make >2 and <3 years of total work experience to get 17 points.
Most likely you would only get 20 points of education as the diploma is only for 2 years not 3 years. Check the university or college site as it would explain whether its 2 years or 3 years course. As far as I know 4 year bachelor´s degree with additional one year of co-op work experience is still considered a 4 year course not 5.
Take IELTS and request them to consider your updated score. Its up to the visa officer discretion but they can be quite lenient at times.

Hello ,
I have appeared for english exam CELPIP and waiting for scores. Frankly, i didnt do that well as i expected with all the tension i had over my head for immi. Anyways, i am sure to achieve 12 points lets see.
I had emailed the officer regarding my work exp. points as she had given me 15 pts instead of 17. I have 2 yrs. fulltime work exp here but one of my co-op work term was as a Retail Operator and my lawyer didnt show this on application as it didnt fall under any NOC. That was the reason why i got 15 pts. What should i do now becuase i am sitting here on 65 pts fighting for 2 pts please advice
