Subject: snow250...
I started the thread to see if there are people who have had similar experiences regarding the IELTS. It was my first thread. I did not know we had to be "proper" in our writing and so I was a little informal. However, I think most people here would appreciate it if you are a little more respectful when you post a reply in future. People on this forum just want to share their experiences and get some advice. I certainly do not expect anyone to proofread my posts.
Thank you.

Now you know. Being informal does not mean you´ve to mess up the language. You should be respectful of your readers also.

I disrespected my readers and messed up the language by being informal?? Get a life!
Anyways, I think you are the last person I need to learn from when it comes to respect.
End of discussion.

It´s alright if Dhara does not want to discuss further. For the benefit of others, however, the best approach to deal with CIC is to be humble and truthful.

Its not like that they singled out you, as these days they are asking everyone who is a non-native speaker and without good education for IELTS,if, he has claimed full points. Most likey in your case they awarded you 12 or so points but not 16 and thus asked you to provide IELTS. You can order CAIPS to see how many points were awarded to you.

You can say that they should not ask for IELTS from people with advanced degrees and work experience in English speaking countries. However, there are a lot of people with advanced education and experience in English speaking countries with only moderate language skills. Also, I am quite sure if some native speakers are asked to write IELTS they will also struggle to get full points.
