Subject: Delayed in Immi. Response
  Hello,
I came here as a student at 19 age and completed diploma with a yr co-op work term. I was able to find job after grad. and work another yr under post. grad work permit. Once I completed my yr work permit I went back to univ. for degree which is my current status. I applied for immi. last yr in Feb and received AOR March 06. I have already submitted IELTS result and I guess I have dot 67 0r 69 points not sure how the officer is gonna calculate. My problem here is I haven´t received any response from Buffalo yet for my file its has been 16 months now. I am getting panic on this as why I am getting delayed whereas my other friends who graduated with me already received medicals. I did order CAIPS notes to find out but that is also now delayed by 26 days. I have no idea what else I can do on this but I just don´t want CIC to come up to me after 17 months and ask I don´t have sufficient points or so but anyways if you could provide me some tips on how I can contact the officer to find the status on my file I would appreciate. Let me know

thx

Co-op work terms cause problems sometimes as they are considered educational experience, an integral part of your course, hence they are not counted as work experience. Volunteer work has no value as far as skilled immigration is concerned.

I dont buy that answer any work exp. done in canada is accounted for points. If i did 8 months co-op it will be counted towards work exp. I have friends who got their medicals n they were given points for Co-op. I would appreciate if you could get your facts right n then respond.

thanks
