Subject: Visa inadmissability
I was charged for misrepresentation at the US embassy here in Manila therefore I am permanently ineligible for having a US visa. My husband is an American Citizen and because of this I cannot join him. Will this affect if ever I plan on immigrating to Canada? Thanks and waiting for your reply soon.

Unless there is a criminal act committed to harm others, there should not be a problem. Be honest when applying for Canada immigration and hopefully you will be fine.

Thanks for the immediate reply. The offense is considered as fraud which I really have no intention of doing but was charged by the US consular officer who interviewed me. Will it be easier for my US citizen husband to relocate/immigrate in Canada then sponsor me so we can be together?

Were you convicted for the fraud? No, then the answer to your question is that you should not have much problems getting PR in Canada. Be honest with CIC if asked to provide any information and hope for the best. First your husband becomes a PR that would take 2 years then he will sponsor you another 2. Better apply together at the buffalo consulate.

I wasn´t convicted (I wasn´t imprisoned or anything)of fraud. I went to the US to work but the employment agency I hired transferred me to another hospital and I have to go back here in Manila to get my new visa. Upon my interview at the US embassy, I was charged with fraud/misrepresentation that´s why I am ineligible for a visa. Is it possible that my husband will file for a PR and me included in the application even if we´re not together physically? He is in the US and I´m here in the Philippines.
