Subject: application question
I want to sponsor my soon to be husband from the U.S into canada but im looking on the CIC website and i need to know, there is two application categories that i can apply under, one says Permanent Resident Applications, which i would apply under spouses or common law, etc, and the other says Sponsorship Applications, which again, i would apply under the spouse, common law, etc category. Could anyone tell me what the difference is between the two and which one is better to apply under? thank you :)

In order to sponsor your husband, you have to be approved as a sponsor first then your husband has to apply for his PR.

Under that particular category, he cannot apply as a PR until you are approved as his sponsor.

They both go together. Sponsorship is first and then PR. You usually send them at the same time and CIC will forward the PR application where it will be processed.
