| Subject: visitor visa extension, pleaseeeeeeeeee help ! |

My mother came to canada on visitor visa nd her visa is going to expire on July 4th, 07. She came to Canada to provide prenatal and postpartum help to my wife.......Now we need to extend her visa because we belive we need her for extended period of time....we requested our doctor to write a letter for an extension and she did provide us a letter stating that. My question is that CAN WE APPLY FOR AN EXTENSION OF ONE YEAR FROM JULY 4TH, 07 TO JULY 08 OR THE VISA EXTENSION IS ONLY FOR 6 MONTHS.
Secondly in application form for visa extension they ask us to provide information about the family member. ARE THEY REFEREING TO ALL THE FAMILY MEMBERS OR ONLY THE DEPENDENT FAMILY MEMBERS BECAUSE MY MOTHER HAS NO DEPENDENT FAMILY MEMBERS.

you asked your question 6 hours ago. You need to be a little more patient my friend. We all have jobs and we all help out here for free.
CIC website is the best place for a fast answer. I believe the extension is for only 6 months... if they are convinced your mother will go home at the end. there is still the risk they will deny the extension.

You mean to say that an extension is never granted or there is always a risk of denial...well this is very well understood sharon that there is always a risk......but this does not stop you to apply for an extension right.....in the application form and guide they did not say any thing about 6 month extension limit rather they ask you how long you want an extension for and i wanted to confirm it from the forum because this forum has been a great help during my own immigration process.
