getting closer
applied under federal skilled worker in Sydney, January 2005.
medicals in January 2007.
passport request yesterday.
not long left to wait. Sydney used to be one of the fastest processing centres (when i applied in 05), although i guess 2 years is still pretty quick by CIC´s global standards.

well, we originally applied in April 04. We landed and became permanent residents in Sept 2005. (we were already living and working here on work permits).
i think the sydney office is still super fast.
we are bringing mum and dad over from australia as well, my brother sponsored them for PR status (since we are both here now), originally lodged in Feb 04, we recieved clearance from missagua in August 06, and just got the instructions for medicals last week (may07). I am hearing that in some countries parental sponsorship takes 5 years+

I dont think sydney is that fast anymore, i started a thread for sydney applications at www.immigration.ca/discussion and one of the guys said theyre still processing feb05 applications...oh my god...how long does it take to process these applications since they must have been processing them for atleast 4 mths already (i was told theyre processing feb05 apps in mid feb)...cic sydney is certainly slowing down big time..
