Subject: Landing done
We finished our landing process on may 2nd 2007. Beside a small problem, it went very smoothly.

We got the one time entry stamping done from buffalo before landing, and as the office is under construction, there is a slight change in the stamping process. The Canadian consulate people took all the principal recipients and made them sit till 11 am and gave the visas to all in one go after 11 am.

Hence we got our visa by 11:25 am.

Then we went to Niagara falls and enjoyed it from US side. Around 5 pm we went to rainbow bridge and went through the landing process. The immigration officer gave us a temporary card saying the PR card can only come when you permanently move to Canada. They gave us a letter which can only enable us to go to Canada by road and no air. To enter Canada by air, we have to take a in-lieu of PR card. We are exploring this option currently. If anybody has the similar experience and is going for in-lieu card, please let us know.
The day after we got our SIN application done, got the number and the bank account opening work, and all that went smoothly.

Anonymous,
After you landed did you go back to the US that same day? I am hoping and praying to go to Buffalo this summer and get my visa stamped. My concern is that my medicals expire in Oct. and my thought is, if i land that day i get my visa stamped and then come back to the us to pack my things, then i don´t have to worry about my medicals expiring before i land. Whats your thought on this? I have to get enough $ to land and the only way to get that is to quit my job (which i won´t yet) and pull my 401K (retirement), which takes 6 weeks to get the $. My concern is the 90 day your allowed before your visa expires if you don´t land within your allotted time. Any ideas?
