HI
I´m Laura from Barcelona, Spain. My boyfriend who I met a year ago in London, UK, is canadian. we decided I´m gonna move there with him and we are gonna get married.
After that we want to apply for the spouse sponsorship visa from within Canada.
As a spanish citizen I can stay in Canada for 6 months, so I thought I could stay there for 6 months, then go back to spain and return to canada, and wait until I get the papers.
I would like someone who knows about immigration to tell me if we are doing the right thing doing it from within canada, and if we are gonna have any problems.
we just wanna be together cause we´ve been separated for long time, although I spent three months with him in canada last winter.
HELP PLEASE!!

From my own experience, I would recommend applying from your home country, after you get married. (takes about 3 months)
Spousal applications in Canada take upto 15 months. But if you come here and get married, you can extend your visitor visa till your spousal application is processed. So you don´t need to go back. You can also apply for a work permit after you get your ´AIP´ which took about 9 months for me.
Check the CIC website for all the information you need about ´spousal application´.
To get married (to get the licence), I think you need two pieces of photo ID. For example, passport and driver´s license. There is a fee and you and your partner need to go to the ´civic´ center and fill in a form etc.
From there, it´s upto you if you want a ´court´ marriage or a private ceremony according to your customs. But I believe, for sponsorship purposes, a ´proper´ cermony would be better.
