Subject: Police clearance certificate - simple question
I have been reading lately many postings about submitting police clearance certificates to a point that I got a little confused myself though I thought I knew a lot about this. I think I don´t.

My question is: I submitted police clearance certificate from FIVE different countries ... except USA, all other countries I did not live in for years now so are they going to ask me to submit AGAIN ALL THE POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES for those countries I lived in if due to their slow processing times it expires ?

It does not make sense, if you have not lived there for many hears, anybody knows ?

Yes. Regardsless you visited those countries again, you should submit updated police clearances if they ask you. They asked me and I did.

My advice: Dont start collecting updated police clearances right now. Wait until they ask. You´ve done it before and you know the procedure. You can get it done faster next time. Just be prepared.

Thanks for your reply Almost Perfect!!

It was the hardest part for me to get those police clearance certificate, you have no idea. The CIC website says to speed up the process to submit ALL documents at the time of SUBMISSION that is why I did it.

I will surely follow your trick for the USA one but for the others, it gives me a headache just to think of it.

Do they ask those certificates AGAIN to every applicant ? Or is it just random ?

PCCs are not asked again from everyone it depends on visa officer´s discretion.

Even if they ask only 1% of applicants, you cant guarantee that you wont be one of them!! So, be prepared but hope for the best.

For India/ Pakistan: You can request at the consulates
Dubai: I think you will get at UAE consulate.

I know Cyprus is pain, other ME countries are pain as well... So sorry. If europe, most likely it will be easier only for the fact that you will UNDERSTAND their language and procedure...

List your countries here and we can try to find easy route

Thanks for your reply.

I have 2 european countries, my home country is OK, then I have UK where I had a hard time to find a way to PAY the fees as they don´t accept dollars then I had Japan where I must go to Embassy for fingerprint then they take forever to send the certificate, India was easy ... and USA took 4 months but I can use Almost Perfect!! trick to see if it works.

Anyway thanks for your response, it was a real pain to get those but as Almost Perfect!! says it clearly I will be ready. I must be prepared, if I had known that earlier I would have waited before sending them.

Police clearance certificate are only valid for 3 months so you could not have sent those after waiting. I am only saying you can avoid sending new ones if you have not visited these countries based on the document (Page 19)link given below. Why don´t you send a letter explaining your circumstances to CIC and provide proof that you have not visited the countries again after obtaining first PCC?

At this moment I don´t know if they will ask me again those PCCs, but if they do it will be a real hassle.

I don´t know what kind of proof I can provide that I did not visit those countries. They should know if they trace every move of each applicant. Then there is this form we have to fill to which address we live for EACH MONTH since the age of 18 so they KNOW in fact.

Don´t know what will I do, I doubt I can get 5 PCCs within 3 months!

If you have not received any request then just wait and watch. There are a lot of things which can happen such as interview after IA or even medicals, re-medicals, second interview, etc. You can/should not worry about all the things. As far as I know quite a few people are not asked to submit fresh PCCs. You can check other forums which will confirm this.

In the document it says proof-passport. You can try submitting a letter of explanation along with copy of the passport pages with entry stamps in advance. If you get pcc request even after that then I do not think you have much of a choice though you can always ask them that you need more time to submit PCCs.
