Subject: CAIPS report - 2 questions
I would like to request my CAIPS report to find out if any additional missing documents are required before the date of the formal assessment so I also like to know that date, therefore my questions are

#1 What is the best time (i.e how many months from receiving AOR) should I apply for the CAIPS report where it will be clearly indicated if more documents are required and the date they will assess my case (then I can send the documents missing on time to avoid further delays) ?

#2 What is the best reliable and affordable source to apply for it ? any suggestions? any website ?

Thanks for your reply

1. There is no best time to order CAIPS file. It depends on your patience. I ordered my CAIPS 18 months after receipt of AOR. I am very positive ordering CAIPS will neither delay nor advance your process.

I would atleast wait 8 to 10 months before ordering it if I dont want to receive a blank paper!

OR.. I got this from Kenny´s post:

1) Go the site

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563B.pdf
fill in the firm with the required details i.e.:

a) Visa post (e.g. Buffalo, NY etc.)
b) File number (e.g. BXXXX..)
c) Date of Birth
d) Your Postal address (In Canada address only)

2) Check on the box for the CAIPS notes request in the form.

3)Provide a photocopy of your valid permit/visa in Canada (Person requesting).

4) Write a cover letter requesting the notes (Person who requests writes that).

Post all the papers together to :

Just wondering....

1) Are you residing inside or outside Canada?
2) What kind of visa are you applying for?

These are important criteria for what you do next....

I am in US and I have applied for Canadian PR.

I just wondered what it is best to do, I thought it is good to know when they will process and if anything is missing you can send what is required before they ask for it so you avoid delays.

My plan was to wait about 8 months before asking for CAIPS but I am not sure if it is necessary or not to request the report.

We are in the UK and we used a company to get ours as we are outside Canada. It is a bit more work to get it if you are outside Canada....but not impossible...All I can add is it isn´t expensive to get CAIPS....What....something like 5 or 10 dollars? Most of all you will see your "bring forward date"....It isn´t an expenseive thing to get and these skilled worker PR´s seems to be going through quickly....Not sure if this helps....
