I just read the article (did not see the video) ... this poor lady is in horrible situation ... are they REALLY going to deport her ?

I can understand that she does not want her child to live in China but why the Canadian authorities can´t do something to protect the mother rather than deporting her ?

Naturally I don´t know her case neither am I an expert, I guess if she is illegal now it is her problem and she should have known the laws ... but now that she has a baby ... I guess the law does not stop her to take the child with her and it is HER who does not want to take the child in China ....

But then why her status was refused ? Yes she deserves compassion, she should be able to stay in Canada with her child. And what happened to the father ?

One extra(Illegal) woman in Canada is not gonna effect the country much. But one illegal child in China will turn the lives of both mother and child upside down. Immigration officials must consider compassion as one of the criteria to grant immigration.

Having lived in Canada for 10 years, she will face another culture shock back in China... Its a shameful case.

Thank you ALL for your comments but I should of posted some of the evidence from the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. I am one that does not stand infront of the Camera and exagerate yet others in the same business do. Click on the link http://www.irb-cisr.gc.ca/en/research/rir/?action=record.viewrec&gotorec=449498

The fourth paragraph clearly shows that the IRB are aware that she will be finded 4-6 times the disposable income. Comp[aring that to Canada is $130,326.00 for Manitoba or over $140,000.00 for the National average.

FYI, don´t confuse China and Communist, in broad meaning of Chinese, could include all ethic Chinese who have Chinese tradition. not all Chinese is hard-core Communist.
I am still proud of my Chinese heritage, Chinese food, language, culture. I tried to teach my girlfriend Chinese.

When I was kid, I dream my own motherland gotta turn to Canadian NDP style, with free medical, education for everyone, Labour standard.. absolutly no private health care.

Chinese Policy regard this lady and her kid are so retarded.. Therefore you could imagine, 1.3 billion population is just on the book

The issue isn´t about whether this woman deserves compassion - it´s about why she expects the Canadian taxpayers to raise her child so that he/she can sponsor her back to Canada when he/she comes of age. You undoubtedly know another side to the story - but what most Canadians see is some woman from China trying to manipulate Immigration Canada into allowing her to stay here by giving birth to a child in Canada. Don´t expect those of us who jump through hoops to be here legally to extend compassion to someone trying to shortcut the system we´re expected to respect.

In addition, I don´t know what the woman is unhappy about if her concern is truly about her child. Her child can stay in Canada and have a "better life". Nobody is saying she has to take the child with her. Her daughter can be adopted by a family who will hopefully love and support her. She (the mother) will not be fined in China as long as she doesn´t bring the child back to China and the child will not be subjected to no health care and no schooling if her mother allows her to remain in Canada. This is so transparent - the only thing that mother is crying about is that her plan to manipulate Immigration Canada into letting her stay has failed.

R & M : The whole reason for this post is about compassion. She doesnt expect Canadian Taxpayers to pay for her child. She will pay taxes herself and raise the child if she is allowed to stay. Canadian tax payers will have to pay for the child if the woman is sent back. The woman might be trying to manipulate the immigration laws which is wrong but considering she be let to raise her child herself, she should be allowed to stay in Canada.
To remind you, this post is about Humanity and Compassion. Anyone could be in this situation. Just sit on the other side of the table and think.
If you are involved in an accident and stuck in your burning car, what should I do if I am passing by? Should I leave you to die or try to save you. This is where we show compassion as Human beings. If we think about dollars every moment of our lives, we will be no different than animals.
