We are to immgrate to Canada, but our house in the USA is not selling. Can the expiration date be changed?

I thought when you cross the boarder to immigrate you had to stay for a certain time before you could leave.
If we use your plan could she fly into Vancouver get immigrated and then fly back to the states. Too bad we couldn´t pick up the house and move it there.
