Subject: can aspouse can travel to canada alone - 1st time
We have recently got our visas stamped on our Indian passports after a successful interview for a permanent resident status. Last date to travel on these visas is 01-06 2007. My wife who is the main applicant, is not able to get leave from her present job. She is not willing to resign as uncertainty in the Canadian job situation.
Q1 - Can a spouse and the kids can travel to Canada un-accompanying the main applicant and she can join us later.
Q2 ? If we are unable to travel b4 that date, wut will be our status, should we have to apply again for new visa or new immigration process.

Well, I know it´s possible to land and then return to your home country for awhile, for example if you still have to get your affairs in order. (You are required to reside in Canada for two years of every five year period after landing to maintain your PR status.) Normally, if the sponsor were already in Canada, they would not necessarily accompany the immigrant to land, but I think the requirements are probably different when the sponsor has been living exclusively outside Canada because, as I´m sure you know, in order for you to be approved your sponsor had to provide proof of her intent to return to Canada with you. I´m not sure, but I´d almost bet you would not be allowed to land without her. Someone else here will know for sure.

Anyway, would it be possible for all of you to travel to Canada to facilitate yours and the kids´ landing, and then return "home" until your wife can secure a job in Canada? It would be a shame to have gone through this whole process for nothing and have to start all over again.

You cann´t travel to the Canada without your main applicant. Otherway is true where main applicant may go to Canada without dependent.

Q1 - No.

Q2 - PR visa will expire, you will have to re-apply for new PR visa.

Not the first time, possible subsequently...
Yes, you will have to go through each step you have already gone through this long, without any concession for applying the second time.
If you ´need´ Canada immigration, you must go before your visa expires.

Uniden, have you landed in Canada yet?

I have a life!!
Thnx for advice (in reply to: can aspouse can travel to canada alone - 1st time)
Thanx every body-- for in-detail advice. but now question arise that if We all travel to Canada before the visa expiry date. and once the PR card is issued to whole family, may be in 30 to 40 days, and my wife go back to India and resume her job there and i stay in Canada for next 3 year. my wife and kids would be come and go back in this period. Will i be able to apply for Canadian citizenship.
Do it still required that first the main applicant have to be eligible for citizenship.
