Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a small business in Canada and apply for a work permit ourselves, this would mean that we would have to gain a LMO and issue a contract to ourselves, without having to do a business application? We cant do a business application because we do not have the min 2 years selfemployed business experience.

(in reply to: Buying a Canadian Business) Dear Kay & James
Yes it is totally possible especially if it is a small business that requires your hands on management experience and is an asset to the community.
Depending on where you are purchasing the business I would seriously read that provinces business PNP rules. Certain provinces only care about you bringing in the business to their province and may issue you a PNP certificate ahead of gaining your two years of Management or Business experience which would assist you with any WP renewals if necessary.
