Subject: Want to Immigrate to Canada.
  Hi Guys,

Currently from Australia, and am looking to immigrate to Canada.

Im just wondering whats the best way to go about this. Currently Im working in a Software Engineering Job, as a Java Developer (J2EE),
and was wondering how hard it would be to get a Work Permit. I have a Bachelor Degree In Information Technology majoring in Software Engineering. More so, how hard would it be to get a Job Offer, I currently have 2 years of experience im still young... only 23.

What incentives does a company have of hiring me, when im not even in Canada?

Would it be better just to apply for the skilled worker? And wait?

Sorry about all the questions but I appreciate any help, or replies.

Thanks in Advance.
Thomas

The main point is that your country of Nationallity will make it so that your language ability will not be in question by any employer.

Any good placement company will provide you with a major Canadian city phone number for messages apply at the best positions so that your mnore likely to get a position. Simply submitting in only the major cities will decrease your chances of success. Once your approved and in Canada you may be allowed to switch employers.

If your Occupation is either NOC 9990.3, NOC 9990.4, or NOC 9990.5 you may be able to get a work permit in less then a week. As a Federal Skilled worker applicant probably not for two years.

The key to your employment search if your occupation is one of the above is that you can claim that your allowed to work in Canada. Your work permit application as a developer does not require HRSDC approval so the second you get an offer of employment apply for your work permit and come on over.

The incentives are common sense. The company can´t find these type of employees that can do these ocuupations so they can hire a foreigner. RIM is advertising every single day.

Once your in Canada earning an income apply for PR based on a PNP program once you have an offer of full time employment and you show an intent to reside in that particular province. Total processing times average from all visa posts for PNP is eight months. According to CIC web site.

Wish you good hunting.

Quick Question. (in reply to: Want to Immigrate to Canada.)
Just another quick question,

I have been living with my girlfriend now for a year and a bit but we arnt married.

I was wondering what form of evidence will i need, to prove that she is my common law?

Is it enough to just fill in the forms?

Just hoping that we would be able to move to canada together.

Thanks
Thomas

A spouse is a spouse is a spouse. We do not show a difference so is you get a work permit she would or could accomany you to Canada.

Ok thanks Roy, so they won?t ask us for any kind of proof that we?re ?common law".

Should be enough to just fill in the skilled worker form?

Thanks
Thomas
