Biometrics Field Trial

I have already been working in Canada on a work visa, and am changing to another company. With the paperwork from HRSDC I have to get a new visa issued at the US/Canada border by driving over and back.
Apparently some new visa applications though are slated to be part of the "biometrics" field trial whereby upon getting a new visa at the border they take your fingerprints, but not for any sort of criminal check or approval process, simply so they can test their system. I find the idea of giving up my fingerprints just so someone can play around with them disturbing and consider it a violation of privacy. The page on the CIC website says that this only applies however at the Airport, Peace Arch and Douglas crossings.
Has anyone had new visas that were processed through Seattle or Hong Kong [ones that qualify as part of the field trial] recently at the Aldergrove crossing and can confirm they do not in fact do this. I just find the idea of being fingerprinted for basically no reason when I already live in Canada somewhat reprehensible.

That´s the way it is.

Take it, or leave it.
