Subject: Sponsoring my Australian wife. |

I´m a Canadian who has been living in Australia since I was a child and I´m in the final stages of completing my application to sponsor my Australian wife so that we can both move to Canada.
My question is about No.20 in the ´Sponsor´ Document Checklist-:
´If you are a Canadian living exclusively outside Canada, you must provide proof that you intend to live in Canada with your spouse once they become PR of Canada´. For eg-
- letter from an employer
- letter of acceptance to a Canadian educational institution
- proof of having rented/bought a dwelling in Canada
- reasonable plans for re-establishing in Canada or severing ties
to the other country.
Apart from showing proof that my wife and I have been living together for the last nine years in Australia, I don´t see how I can actually prove that we intend to continue doing so once we live in Canada. Has anybody got any suggestions???
I have looked into doing a two week course when I get there and have also found out via email to some Canadian (around Vancouver area)businesses that my trade qualifications will get me a job. But since the Canadian Immigraton website states that sponsorship could take anywhere from 3-8 months, I cannot apply for either a course OR a job until I know specific dates of when my wife and I can move there, therefore not being able to provide any proof!
Has anyone got any suggestions or experience with this part of the sponsorship process???
Thankyou....

(in reply to: Sponsoring my Australian wife.) As they say, why don´t you give them a letter from your current employer saying they recognise that you´re moving back to Canada? You could also provide a letter from your family saying they´ll support your return to Canada. Think of it this way: with the information you´ve provided, it does kind of sound like you´re going over to see what it´s like. What´s to stop you returning to Australia? That´s why they want you to be explicit, so they don´t grant her PR only to have her leave Canada (job market is tough here, after all, and many people including Canadians leave). Could you find a house to buy or rent? Could she look into doing a course here? (Would DEFINITELY help her job prospects). Etc., etc.
